Quote:VIctor/Ken could taken Adalind's new baby from her and traded that baby for Diana with either Nick or Kelly's mom. Adalind gave birth days after mama Kelly died in the first timeline. Royals could have induced labor in Adalind to get the baby early to trade with Nick and his mom. The royals were watching Nick's email so when Nick would have emailed his mom that might have been enough.
First they would have to get Nick to believe it was his child. It was Sean that convinced Nick that Adalind was telling the truth.
But the bigger flaw is before Adalind gave birth they would have had Juliette and already setup the trade. Unless you think Nick would let Juliette die. If they killed Juliette why would Nick believe them that the child was his.
Viktor didn't care, that's why he was replaced by Kenneth, who used the pregnancy against Adalind by siccing Juliette on her. It wouldn't be any different only this time no Hexenette. Kenneth would no doubt come up with a way to use that pregnancy to get what he wanted. Adalind couldn't remain with the royals and be safe, more so if they discovered Nick wad the father of her baby.

Adalind would have taken Juliette to Kenneth, not Viktor and tried to escape with this new baby before giving the royals or Nick any chance to take the baby away from her like last time. How far she runs is the question, not far I imagine. She had no friends or resources. Nick was human, he couldn't offer her any protection that she as a hexenbiest couldn't. Kenneth didn't care about Adalind, just finding Kelly's location with Diana and as I said he could go to Nick with the news of Adalind being pregnant, or whatever, threatening to kill her child before it's even born and without knowing the absolute truth, Nick could never risk it. He'd be compelled to save/protect Adalind on the same basis as before but not from Juliette.
Quote:Viktor didn't care, that's why he was replaced by Kenneth, who used the pregnancy against Adalind by siccing Juliette on her.
They replaced Viktor because Adalind failed to bring Juliette to Viktor which was their leverage. Also Viktor was tasked with taking Nicks powers. But after finding out Juliette is a hexenbiest they realized Nick is a Grimm again. So that is three fails for Viktor so he was replaced. Adalind being pregnant never figured into the plan. Kenneth was making use of an opportunity.

It is one thing to protect Adalind from Juliette. It is entirely another to put his mother in danger for a child that may not be his. Also you for get Adalind had the protection of the King. The king even told her he did not agree with viktor putting her in the dungeon.
I didn't say Nick would give up his mother for the baby, I said without knowing the truth 100% he couldn't let anything happen to Adalind. Nick would have never contacted his mother but he could still try and protect Adalind to protect the baby that was possibly his, then do a DNA to be sure he was the father.

The king's protection is worth spit, showing regret over what Viktor didn't isn't the same as actually protecting Adalind in the moment she's tortured. He knew about it but didn't lift a finger to get her out of that dungeon. The pregnancy is still an opportunity that's available to the royals now, just as it was then. That baby is a potential grimm it will carry weight regardless of Adalind's situation. Adalind was working with the royals but she was on a very very short leash even with Viktor. She was being used from the moment Viktor told her to take Nick's powers and because of her desperation for Diana she let herself. With another baby on the way she couldn't rely on that shaky status quo that was no less dangerous for her, to bring in a grimm baby into the equation escalated the danger she was in. The royals were never to be trusted after that.

The King likely suggested the dungeon to Viktor. There is no evidence that Eric, Viktor or Ken did anything without King's approval while working for him. In fact, we see the king only do negative things to loyal employees and family. The first chance the royal family had they would have killed Adalind. Sean whole childhood his mom and he were on the run from the king not just the king's mother.
The King could have Ok'ed putting Adalind in the Dungeon. She did betray them by taking off with Diana. But once he said he was giving her a second chance she was under his protection. Even with Kenneth we see he does his own dirty work. If Adalind was not protected by the King Kenneth would have taken care of her once she was no longer of value.

Yes, the plan was to kill Adalind even pregnant once they got Diana. The king told Juliette that only the Queen was after Sean and his mother but Sean said the whole royal family was after his mother and him for years.
The Royal family was after them because the queen said so. Once the queen was gone the rest of the family had no reason to go after them. Sean is the captain of the Portland police. if the family was after him don't you think they could have found him.

The King was in charge of the Royal family and he had to approve of going after Sean and his mother. Second season Grimm we see the royal family sent assassins to kill both Sean and Nick his Grimm. The is no reason to believe the royals ever stopped trying to kill Sean as an adult.

Like any monarchy the queen has power. If she wants someone dead then that becomes the goal unless the King says otherwise. She does not have to get his OK.
The royal family sent people after Sean because of the Keys. Not because of the queen hatred for the kings mistress.
