There really are spoilers here, so don't proceed if you haven't watched up to episode 2x18 "Vocanalis".
Rampant theory thread ahead.
So, since Adalind is looking for the return of her powers as a Hexenbiest, does that mean that anyone can acquire them? Or can only "former" Wesen regain them?
On that note, does that mean that Wesen were human in the first place? Perhaps they gained their abilities through magic hundreds (or thousands) of years ago?
Hey guys devoted Grimm Fan here! I've followed the show from season 1 and I generally don't question the logic of these kinds of shows but sometimes they leave me a bit dumbfounded.
My Interpretation of Nick Burkhart's abilities is that fighting somehow comes very naturally to him. Part of his instincts. Do you agree with me?
However a couple of episodes back, can't recall which one exactly. He gets temporary blinded by a Wesen and in turn develops a very acute sense of hearing.
And at the end of the episode when his sight is returned back to him it seems he keeps the improved hearing. Thinking of the scene where he bashes fruits in the woods with a baseball bat.
Here I am thinking wow this will be an interesting development in further episodes. But ever since that ep I haven't seen a single scene where his hearing plays a part in fighting wesen.
Do you think they figured out he would be too "grimmed" up and just hope we forget it or ?
I'm just a bit confused that's all... and I'm wondering what your thoughts are on the matter
Nick (David Giuntoli) finds himself fighting a wildly different sort of nature freak in a desperate attempt to keep a volcano from burying Portland in lava. Meanwhile a pregnant Adalind (Claire Coffee) meets a powerful new ally (guest star Shohreh Aghdashloo) in Europe. Meanwhile, Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) seeks out help after becoming overwhelmed by the latest side effect of her recovery - multiple memories of Nick showing up everywhere. Russell Hornsby, Silas Weir Mitchell, Sasha Roiz, Reggie Lee and Bree Turner.
EDIT: Bad News everyone, the new episode of Grimm has been rescheduled for next week (4/26/2013)
EDIT #2: Turns out that the new episode of Grimm still aired in certain places, you can find the link to the episode here
EDIT #3: NBC has changed the name of the episode from Ring of Fire to Volcanalis
9/22/13 - This is a thread originally in the Locations Category that has been moved to the General Discussions category. Below is the original content.
The Locations Category is a new section of the Forum where members will be able to collaborate with others to find the filming locations of various places in Grimm.
As a Portland resident myself, I will try and help identify the filming locations on the show. I hope other Portlanders will join me in helping fans identify various places in our region.
Last season there were 22 episodes. We are now on episode 17.
Which episode do you think Juliette learns that Nick is a Grimm? I'm assuming that will be the same episode that her memory returns but I guess that does not have to be the case.
Awesome news everyone, the ratings for the most recent episode of Grimm "One Angry Fuchsbau" increased over last week's Season Low by 7% to a 1.5 in the 18-49 demo! Also great news is that, this was the highest rated scripted program of the night!
This likely means that Grimm will be renewed for Season 3.
Also an interesting quote in that article is:
Last week's telecast growing by 63 percent from its "live plus same day" 18-49 rating (1.37) to its "live plus three day" result (2.23).
2.23 is a rather good rating for a Friday night show on fifth placed NBC.
Below I posted ratings for all the broadcast networks on Friday night. One thing it shows is that a handful of Reality and News programs had higher ratings than Grimm. Shark Tank is the clear winner of the night, then 20/20 and Undercover Boss.
NBC seems to be emphasizing the importance that Grimm was the highest rated scripted show. Makes me wonder what value scripted programs bring over reality shows for Advertisers.

Back at the precinct, Captain Renard (Sasha Roiz) brings Nick and Hank in on his own recent dealings with the Verrat, to keep them on their toes. Meanwhile, a return to the trailer brings a flurry of memories of Nick rushing back to Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch). Reggie Lee and Claire Coffee also star.
Another new episode of Grimm tonight, and it looks like a great one! What do you all think of tonight's episode?
As I'm writing this we are 3/4 of the way through the second season and the writers are showing the Captain in a more favorable light. I started thinking maybe I was wrong and this guy isn't so bad. So I went back and re-watched some of Season 1 over again.
I'm going to make a list of all the bad things the Captain has done so far. go ahead and add as many as you can think of.
Sent Addelaide to kill Aunt Marie.
Pulled guards off Aunt Marie in the hospital
Was in collusion with the Wesson who ran the fight club.
Siced Addelaide on Hank - and gave her Hank's blood for her potion.
am I the only one who has a queasy feeling about Nicks family? I mean why should Renard killing Nicks aunt when he´s on the side of the resistens and working aganist the royalty. And why didn´t came Nicks mother his aunt to help?
My consideration is that maybe his mother and his aunt working with the royales or at least with the varrat.
That would be explain why Mrs. Grimm kills Adalins mother and stay in Portland.
