I think she's having a very wet dream (ahem)...I mean a drug-induced hallucination about the crying walls. She is Diana's mother as well so I think we will see parts of her journey no matter how "stoopit" she may be at times. Say what you will, but she loves her child and bonded with her so it is very sad to me that she is unfit and unable to care for Diana in the right way. While I think they did the right thing, I wouldn't be surprised if Adalind ended up being a powerhouse hexenbiest due to pain and resentment encouraging her to increase practice of her Craft.

But I've been feeling for a long time that she is steadily growing in her powers. She's created quite a few spells and potions thus far, and they've all have been pretty stunning. She's not grown-up in her decisions, though, and reacts in a knee-jerk way; that's what gets her in trouble. But she's only 24, just a few years older that Trubel, and that'll change with time. Both Rosalee and Elizabeth recognize that this latest is a very sophisticated spell and Elizabeth seemed very impressed at Adalind's ability to cast it.
I don't remember them mentioning her age but maybe she was 24 in the first season? If she were 24 now she would have been 20 years old in the first season but she wouldn't have finished college yet, let alone be a practicing lawyer.
Anyway, you both bring very good points about Adalind. I consider her a very smart character and it's one of the main reasons why I love her as a villain on the show, but I've been frustrated with her for her somewhat dumb decisions lately because I kept thinking "you're smarter than that!" especially when Victor managed to fool her. I should definitely cut her some slack because she's acting driven by grief and desperation. I actually loved her vulnerability when the baby came and how that whole arc showed us a new side of her and made her a much more complex character in my eyes, so I should keep that in mind. Thank you both for reminding me. Surely it's just a matter of time before she makes Victor pay for his deception!

The Hoffman guy in the next cell over from Adalind - could he be Victor with a disguise spell? (they also thought the whole weeping wall thing was a hallucination caused by the brownies. )
And here is a prediction from me: In order for Nick to get his powers back, Juliette has to drink Elizabeth's potion that will make her look just like Adalind. and then Nick has to sleep with her. There is a sort of synchronicity to this that is common in magic spells. Plus it will cause all kinds of psychological problems for both Nick and Juliette.
When we first heard Hoffman's voice I was sure it was Victor. Glad I'm not alone! Thanks for the tip, I'll definitely check this podcast out.
I think your prediction is just the right amount of creepy to be right
