The writers do not compensate for any of the other characters actions. Why would they do it for Juliette. The transformation taking so long does have a purpose. Season 4 was the hexentte learning curve. Plus it established Nicks bias for Hexenbiest. A bias that put the Nick Juliette relationship at risk. Season 5 was Nick over coming his bias. It also established Eve as an equal to Nick. Remember in season one they established the Nick and Juliette's relationship was them being on equal terms. He was a detective she was a doctor. Neither was dependent on the other. As Grimm's became more in touch with his Grimm and Juliette learned more about wesen. Nick and Juliette's relationship became very uneven. Now Nick and Eve are back even again. Adalind has always been the catalyst for movement in Nick and Juliette's relationship.
People on this board hold grudges. which makes no sense because the show does not address grudges. How are these people ever satisfied if the show never provides redemption.
I said that what Juliette did was on a whole other level. Her actions were not equal to what the others have done precisely because of who she is. It got turned up to eleven when Kelly's head was found in a box. They made it a point to show how Nick reacted to it because we've never seen him react to anything like that before so this was meant to be different.
I also said she would've been better off not becoming a protagonist again so I'm not clamoring for redemption. I think the effort to redeem characters in other shows have outright ruined them. I think Adalind was a better character before season 5. I didn't need to see her redeemed either. I always knew she wasn't outright evil which was just fine with me.
Juliette could've become Eve without going as far as she did so I do think the two things are connected. It shows just how much HW was able to mold her into the perfect soldier. I think they made it clear that Nick would not work with Juliette without the transformation when he confronted her in the restaurant about Kelly's death. He told the gang it's like she's a different person the next time he saw them. This was used in an effort to get them to work with her.
