I actually think this would've been a better explanation than the ritual alone being responsible for her powers. I would've liked for the ritual amplifying the Grimm blood in her to compliment her Hexenbiest powers. The physical strength of a Grimm could've been converted to add to her telekinesis and telepathy.
I think it's safe to say Diana probably does have some of Nick's blood in her. It could also help to explain why she took a particular interest in Kelly's locket.
The loss of a hexenbiest as the result of ingesting a grimm's blood was a major plothole in the series.
In my opinion, the ritual, in addition to Diana's heritage, makes much more sense in terms of power than her mother passing Nick's blood on to her wihile managing to retain it forever and ever and ever.......
How exactly is it a plot hole it’s well established that Grimm blood is super powerful. After all it’s was grimms who defeated the shows greatest evil Zerstorer the Hexenbiests and Zauberbiests were useless against Zerstorer. It’s also not up for debate whether Adalind still has Grimm blood it’s proven fact stated on the show by more than one character it’s the main reason she was able to remove Nicks powers, the only debate is whether Diana has it as well.
