Without that difference, the series becomes "kill the wesen of the week," and runs out of stories about midway through the first season.
So he should just leave that grimm part away? He should kill wesen, hhe wants to befriend them, fine! But at least he should grimm up! Insted of the show being let's lock the wesen up of the week
From what I have read on the internet, they wanted a cop show but those are a dime a dozen so the Grimm fairytales was the plot twist that ensured the show was green lit. It honestly wasn't about a Grimm killing wesen because that's what his ancestors did. It was a cop show that featured a Grimm. Nick's morality evolves with each season so by the end of the show he's more Grimm(ish) than he was a cop, at least not as honourable to the badge as when the show began.
Which to me it was whats expected. We were introduced to an extraordinary well seasoned cop that applied and was promoted to a plain clothes detective specializing in murder investigations. He owned his own house, had a gorgeous live in girlfriend and was ready to take the sucker plunge (sarcasm) and propose.
I am sure, at this point, about half way of the Pilot episode, she would have said, Yes! But the poor guy gets thrown a curve. Sees Adalind, his 1st voge. Aunt Marie shows up, unannounced and his whole world takes a turn. To some, for the worst. To most of us, for the better, since we all realize if it wasn't for the better, we would have no show.
To me, it was his progression from a cop as a part time Grimm to a Grimm sharing professions as also being a cop, was as I expected it.
You know you are OLD, when you see the Slide Ruler you used in college selling in an ANTIQUE SHOP!!
