I'm toadally non-plussed at how nobody seems to think it's possible in such incredible situations that Juliette simply. went. crazy. and remains crazy for a while. When someone is in a situation and they are decidedly in over their heads, and nobody seems able or willing to put themselves in her shoes - forget that it's a story - IF it really could happen, wouldn't it just be the whole thing was just too very much for her psyche to bear and to deal with? I don't think she's railing at nick over it as much as she's railing over the whole happenstance.
Nobody has to be blamed for going crazy. It just happened. And just because Elizabeth said there might be 'side effects', she didn't exactly go into any possible specific side effects. Why would she say it if she didn't have some inkling as to what those side effects could be. She knew at the very least that there WOULD be consequences whether they took action or not.
And Monroe and Rosalee may care for and love those they try to help, but their love and compassion can't always come through.
