It's 8:37pm on a Friday night and there is no Grimm on
Lots of interesting comments, many people heavily invested in their positions. Good to see the passion.
I don't feel Adalind raped Nick. There was no force or coercion, just a type of deception that couldn't happen in real life.
I became a big supporter of Nadalind over the course of the show and was thrilled with the final outcome. I thought Adalind was a far better and more interesting character than Juliette at all times throughout the show. Claire is also a better actress and brought much more expression and passion to her character. Finally, although Elizabeth is certainly a pretty woman I find Claire to be breathtakingly beautiful and the more I could see her on the screen the happier I was
I'd like to thank Mrtrick for his many eloquent posts which pretty much mirrored my views on things. Adalind wasn't perfect and made many mistakes but grew as a person and deserved to find happiness with Nick.
I hope Claire can find a new role on a weekly show soon. I'm going to miss seeing her on a regular basis. (That sentiment applies to pretty much all the cast. Just more for the beautiful hexenbiest.)
I do love a good argument. And nothing gets people's dander up more than the issue of Adalind versus Juliette.
I would disagree about Bitsie's acting though. I think she gets too much of a bad wrap. She has a laconic disposition, which is often appreciated in stoic male characters, but not so much in women. Female actors are expecteded to be more naturally effusive. In my view of her work, I noticed a lot more nuance then is often appreciated.
I suppose, in the end, I would call myself a Nadalind supporter, because I believed it was the best thing for both characters and the future of the Grimm world. But I always loved Juliette/Eve as well. I was delighted when she turned out to be alive. And I'm not of the notion that a happy ending for her was dependant on ending up with Nick. In most ways, Eve is a tragic character. There will always be a melancholy aura about her. In the end, the warning Nick received from Aunt Marie in regards to the dangers this world posed to Juliette, came fully true. But her Phoenix like rise from the ashes and subsequent evolution into driven fighter, finding redemption in good works, has created one of the more impressive arcs of the series. The other amazing arc was Adalind. I've spoken in greater detail about her previously, but suffice to say, in this instance, her happy ending was inextricably linked to Nick's. As a couple they represent a sea change in the Wesen world. The idea that the two most antithetical symbols of Grimm and Wesen relations, would fall in love and build a legacy together, that will fundamentally alter their society, is pretty profound. I just wish we got to watch it. I want to see Eve demolishing evil wherever she finds it. And I want to see Adalind and Nick forge the future as one.
