I'm saying he should have gone hunting for his baby, and once baby was found, taken baby, Diana and Trubel with him. The situation didn't call for what Nick wanted or wished for. It called for him handling the immediate concerns of his kids and tending to Trubel's injuries.
Taken them with him where, Nick grabbed the staff to revive his loved ones and within 18 seconds he was dragged through the Mirror. That is what was shown onscreen.
He could have let the staff go. This is, after all, his son we are talking about.
The best way to frustrate a cyberbully is to ignore him.
