Your the only person I’ve ever heard make such a theory.
You know, it's amazing, reading some of the ridiculous excuses you come up with. It didn't take Nick any time at all to figure out the shard. He saw it heal Monroe, he put two and two together and healed Eve with it. He carried the stick with him and was healed from critical injuries.
I mean, just how much time do you think it would take for Nick to figure out that the stick is subject to whoever controls it.
Aside from that, it's a ridiculous theory to suggest that the stick "somehow knew" Nick wanted his friends revived and then further suggest that the stick "figured" Nick would want to go home and so whisked him home.
We know Nick did not order it. He struggled not to be pulled into the portal and was shocked when he saw everyone alive on the “other side”. My impression was that Nick would go around with the staff and try to bring them back to life (just like Truble), one after one. But he got pulled into the portal before he could try. It may have been Nick's desire to get them back that got the staff to act, but it was at best an unconscious consequence and not a direct order. He didn’t know what happened. I would rather not mention this, given your resistance, but the creators explanation was that the killing of Z triggered a reset of the timeline.
