I assumed the standard Grimm kill was the removal of head from shoulders and the only wesen that didn't naturally fear them to get the job done were the reapers (are they actually wesen) using a scythe. I though it was the writers trying to be tongue in cheek/on the nose with the whole grimm reaper concept.
This has always intrigued me, the natural order of wesen /grimm/reapers. We've discussed this at other times, whether or not Grimm could be considered wesen. I can't remember if we were ever told if reapers are wesen, and if so do they have a woga? Or are reapers like a group of wesen (different kinds) that join, train to hunt the hunters? Or are reapers the other side of the grimm coin? The same kind of species, that has the grimm sight but reapers turned on Grimm by siding with wesen?
Basically, what exactly do we know about reapers on this show? And why did the show not use them more often? they are the grimm's natural enemy and it would have made sense to focus on Royals using reapers instead of the verrat.
