Quote:syscrash, you keep forgetting one thing in all of this: Nick. He swore to protect the innocent. Letting his mother have her way so she can get her hands on Diana is not protecting the innocent. You know this for a fact. She was so caught up in getting this child, she completely forgot the most important thing she was supposed to do and that was to protect Diana. As a result, it blew up in hers and Nick's faces and they failed. Miserably. It only blew up in their face because Adalind could not keep her mouth shut. Had Adalind not told Viktor that Kelly had Diana. Viktor would have never came to Portland. Because they knew Adalind could not keep her mouth shut is why they did not include her. The entire plan hinged on the Royals thinking Diana was with the resistance. Nick duty to protect the innocent is why he protected Diana. Nick and Juliette where ready to kill Adalind when she came to the house. Instead because of Diana who was an innocent. They put their neck on the line. Remember it was Adalind greed that caused the whole incident. Adalind was the one that deliberately got pregnant with a Royal child. then went to vienna to the castle to sell the child. Even signed a contract with the Royals and accepted payment. Now everyone is in a tight spot because the Royals want their property. There is nothing about the event that Adalind is in the right about. Even to the point of damaging her child and putting a price on her head so she could have her powers back. At the rate Diana is growing she will be an old lady by the age of 12. Yet people say Adalind is a good mother.
And you can go on and on and on about how you feel this is the right thing, but I have yet to see you address why none of them told Adalind about it.
Quote:Really? Well, let's talk about something more civilized, like the US. Some states still honor common law marriage. Guess what? The most binding form of marriage recognition is often something as simple as a joint checking account.Common law like domestic partners do not have the same rights as marriage. that is what the fight is about. It is like segregation separate but equal. It can never be equal.
Conrad put a ring on Adalind's finger and told her she was a princess. I don't know that that means marriage in Grimmland. We'll have to wait and see. But that said, I haven't seen anyone come up with a better explanation as of yet.
It may be a little deep to understand but the ring was a metaphor with a spell to enforce the concept. For one Sean has advocated his position. So he is not a prince which means Adalind could not be a princess. If he had not advocated Sean would have had to make a declaration of marriage to Adalind not a third party. Even in arranged marriages until the engagement is declared Royalty is not bestowed. Placing a ring on Adalind finger can not make her Royalty. But just like people say daddies little princess. The term is used as a metaphor. Beside they are in the US Grimm or no Grimm we do not have Royalty.
