To be honest it is much more complicated than how you wrote it down. It was more of a life and death situation.
The first time she told Nick about Diana, was after she met with Renard at the cafe, he then tells her Renard works for Black Claw. She asked Nick to search for Diana.
When she first met the black claw leader, he said some thing key to her,
"There are many words for many things, but there is no word for when a mother looses her child" focused on Kelly.
And ofcourse met Diana again.
Now imagine what was going through her head, She could loose 2 important people in her life at a go, both Kelly and Nick.
I think that same night, she told Nick that she is afraid people do not want them to be happy together.
Now her next move was very interesting, she knew if she told Nick, he could react and it could complicated for them both, because there are 2 parties after thier family and not 1, Renard and Black Claw.
So she now took Kelly to buy time for Nick. She knew Kelly will be alright for now but also knew nick will figure a way to get them back, she also knows Nick is not a man that gives up,
Another reason why she was stuborn and irritating to Black claw and Renard while staying there, that the leader threatened her again.
It is the reason why she wrote the note to Nick to let him know she was forced into the situation and remind him she loves him and doing it to protect him and the children. The same reason she called Cho to ask him to tell Nick she loves him again and Kelly is fine.
It was a very complicated situation. It was like playing Chess. Either they went aggressive cause black claw wanted that, she played it carefully giving Nick time to handle it on the other side.
All that over looks the obvious. Conrad already told Sean Nick was not in any danger. Conrad did not want to kill Nick he wanted to recruit Nick. Meisner was the one Conrad did not want. When Adalind left what did they have to use against her. Did she really think Sean would hurt his own daughter. Kelly was with her, wasn't she at the fome because she believed Nick could protect her. Her actions say she thought her a Kelly where safer with the guy who kidnapped her, then the guy who said he would protect her. Eve already threatened her over Nick. Did she really think Eve would not protect Kelly to protect Nick.
I am not seeing what you think is so complicated about the situation. Exactly where is the life or death. On Nicks side you have Nick and Eve. What is her protection with Sean. He has already shown he is not above harming her by kidnapping her. Why did he even need to kidnap her. She would have went voluntarily to see her daughter. Even if it meant with a blind fold.
Second she could call Wu but not call Nick. He at least deserves that. If her thought was Nick would come for them. Might giving him a little information have been helpful.
Sean kidnapped Adalind to take her to Diana. I would think that would be more important then. Look Nick I have my powers back. How about after Conrad confronted her at the office. Wasn't that worth mentioning to Nick. You theory is she figured Nick would come for them. Yet she does not tell him Diana is involved. Conrad has threatened her and the kids. Plus Sean has resorted to kidnapping. The way she did it giving him no information. She expected him to walk into the situation blind.
