There is always a moment where Nick and Juliette / Eve show they still cared about each other. Season 4 Juliette was dying Nick held her showing he still has feeling for her. In season 5 Eve was dying, after the cure and she showed signs of her humanity. Again Nick held her showing he still cared for her. Season three Nick and Juliette ended with a romantic moment before he was shipped off in a casket. Once he recovered, again they had a caring moment. Why would the show always leave us with a moment showing Nick and Juliette still care for each other if the end game was to not have them together. What do we remember from Nick and Adalind. Nick made a point of they have my son. Not they have Adalind. After Adalind left Nick has not made one statement showing concern for Adalind. When Adalind sent the message not one mention about Adalind. His only comment was that must be Diana. When Eve asked Trubel about Adalind leaving. Trubel's answer was he thinks she did not have a choice. This was said after Eve gave that long narrative about always having a choice. If the show was going to continue the Nick and Adalind relationship, why bring back Eve having feelings. They took her feelings away and moved Juliette out so they could put Nick and Adalind together.
As for the past events being an issue. out of five season past event have never been an issue. No mater what or who everything is forgiven. So why would anyone think they would be an issue in Nick and Juliettes case.
Alright, let us look at it this way.... 2 things.
They both have a 7 years history of being together as a couple, Juliette from the 7 years together used a fews days to cause him ever lasting pain and lose.
Now imagine those few days she caused him unimaginable misery, pain and lose became an equivelent or even more to the 7 years of love they had for each other.
Basically that just moulded into thier 7 years history like a blankett.
Ofcourse he will still care because of their history but he will also never forget, cause of that, there will not be space to bring back that love.
Regarding Adalind and Nick new growing relationship, Season 5 episode 7 (I think that was the key episode to how deep their relationship got)....
2 straight forward conversations they had,
Adalind goes some thing like,
Juliette is back, what if she wants you back, I know you feel responsible and that makes you vunerable, that makes me and our son vunerable, Nick stopped her and said, Adalind, with Juliette back how I feel about you and Kelly will not change.
Are you sure, Yes I am Sure.
Next morning, Adalind did not end there (hahaha... , I just love this lady)
She continues something like...
I cannot help wonder if you wished Kelly was Juliette and your child.
His answer was perfect to Adalind....
You gave us a chance for a normal life when you took my grimm away, we did not take that chance. (meaning Grimm or no Grimm, they just could not finalize it)
She then says....I wish I could take back every thing I did to you,
He answered perfectly again with....
"except Kelly."
Thumbs up !
Now... In all the 3 and a half seasons with Juliette and Nick, I have not seen them have such deep emotional conversations like Adalind and Nick had through season 5, We still got S6.
To conclude, it is not about that he has feelings for her, but more about pity, guilt and sadness, feeling abit responsible. He will still care for her because they have a history but nothing more.
