Actually you have a point here. The seven Grimm knights masqueraded as Templars during the sack of Constantinople and somehow managed to take the stick and the cloth back with them. As the sack of Constantinople was in, itself unethical, their actions were unethical as well in a couple of regards. One, the intentional identity theft of the Templars, and two, taking a shard that they had no business taking in the first place.
