I think Adalind’s idea of raising her children right was giving them a loving environment that was as normal as Hexenbiest and Grimm can have.
And I think that’s what initially drew her to Nick - that she was in the most chaos free environment she’d probably ever experienced. And why she was so devastated that he was going to Germany - Nick not making it back jeopardized her and Kelly’s chaos free environment. That Adalind not only accepted, but preferred the safety of the paint factory loft demonstrated that her expectations of ‘normal’ were limited to that of Hexenbiest and Grimm lifestyles.
It was a while before Adalind knew anything that was going on in S6, but she nor Renard ever brought up Diana attending school vs. home schooling. Something human parents of a human child would have addressed sooner rather than later.
