Yes I agree, definitely. But as I said, in general, if you are even a modestly observant person and exposes to people's lives (i.e. engaged and not a hermit) the mere passage of times gives you a great deal of insight into human behavior. It just sort of happens.
You can be in for a real treat if you find someone over 80 who has kept engaged with people, technology, and current events over the years. They tend to have an uncanny knack for reading people. At least I find it interesting.

You make some interesting points. The basic question is “Would Juliette really have killed Nick?”
Use the basic definition of “kill” – “to deprive of life,” such as Nick had just done to Kenneth.
Yes or No?

Yes. She went back to the house for a showdown. Not so much that she wanted to kill him or him to kill her as she wanted it resolved. I really doubt she cared which one of them was to die, she offered herself up, he did not take it, so he made the choice for her.
Having Nick around involved with Adalind's and his baby would have been too much for Juliette. It really did not make a difference to Juliette who died, just so one of them did.
So yes, she would have killed him, not necessarily that she wanted to, she just wanted the real issue, which was a them that could never be, resolved. The only way to resolve that was to eliminate one of the two parties to the equation.
