Good stories require conflict. Audiences subconsciously demand conflict, because a story becomes tedious otherwise. Since Monroe and Rosalee spent all this season developing their relationship, I'd expect next season that the writers are going unleash a catalyst that will create tension in the relationship.
Before this past season, I'd simply figured they would use the Angelina card (i.e., Monroe's ex). That was done, but not long term. So, I see the next step is having one of Rosalee's exes (well, another one) show or something else from her past being used to create tension in the relationship. The only other alternative is that Rosalee gets kidnapped/hurt/whatever, but that wouldn't really create conflict between Monroe and Rosalee so much as create conflict in returning to the relationship.
Personally, I find Rosalee to be a pretty boring character on the show, and I never understand the fan love she gets (well, I understand it, but I think the reasons are dumb). She reminds me of Hermione from Harry Potter, another character I got really bored with. She's a walking search engine for the Grimm mythos (just like Hermione was with Hogwarts history), and whenever the writers need to have exposition about the wessen world for the audience, Rosalee provides an explanation.
