(Shakespeare? One of the Brownings?) if Nick really loved her, h e could learn to accept her although she has changed. If she didn't feel rejected by Nick, she wouldn't be going through this craziness, at least not so acutely. She also feels the change was foisted on her by Adalind. Adalind is a sloppy spell-caster; it seems as if anything she does has unintended consequences. Is it really possible for a normal human to become a Hexenbiest by accident? More likely Juliette has some Hexenbiests in her bloodline, and what Adalind did flipped the switch to turn that gene on. If Juliette found out that--say--her grandmother in Spain had been a Hexenbiest, she would find a sort of self-acceptance and just be the best Hexenbiest she could be, corny cliche--use her powers for good (mostly).(04-15-2015, 08:05 PM)Giulianetta Wrote: Nick can't stand to look at her. I don't think so. This is a Juliette acting out in desperation, not love. I can see why she'd find Renard physically attractive, sure, but it's a relationship driven by lust, and those simply aren't built to last.
Besides, it's not as if she gave Nick a whole lot of time to adapt before she bolted out the door.
Also, I think there's always been something between Renard and Juliette. Who says it's just lust? Renard kissed the comatose Juliette reverently, not lustfully....
your theory about hexan blood is not only not supported but refuted by previous episodes. Rosalee said that "made hexanbeists are stronger and more deadly than born ones." She never mentioned that you had to have it through bloodlines and this was in responce to a question about normal women becoming Hexans.
The poetry does not fit either. Nick did not and has not rejected her. He reacted in shock. Then at a different time she WOGED and tried to force him to kiss her in that state. They have not shown many other marriages between Wessen and normals but I doubt that they woge into dogs and rats and expect their human mate to take them with passion. I did not see her do full on woge after removing her shirt and before grabbing Sean. This is a double stanard is it not? Nick the human has to kiss the beast but Sean the beast gets to kiss beauty? This does not make sense.
I used a soldier who has been burned in a previous post in this thread. She like the soldier has altered her self image and rejects anyone who does not alter theirs. Your peotry does more to support Nicks position than hers. "when it alteration finds"... does not say or even imply where or who it finds it in, one can find alterations in themselves. So did she not love Nick as per "Love is not love, which alters"?
That kiss was by a man under a potion, with a pure heart... That no longer applies. He has since ordered the death of his own BROTHER. A man who has slept around since. Who has broken rules that did not need to be broken. Pure heart gone. Sorry. Sean is quite literally a randy, lustful, bastard, who has proven to be much less than a friend. You do not sleep with your friends ex if he still has feelings for her. You do not sleep with your subordinates recent mate, ever. It leads to being fired if you work for government agencies. I have worked for the Treasury and USDA both made me read and fill out paperwork on sexual harassment policies before I was even considered hired. Having sex with someone working under you or their mate has been a big no no since at least 2000 when I filled out my first paperwork. Sean deserves to lose his job, his place with the resistance (that depended on his having a grimm) and everything else for his betrayal of Nick.
BTW the basis for magic is the deal/contract with god/s, the devel, djinn (trickster spirit) or nature spirits. Never expect them to interpret your deal the way you do. You use your third wish to wish for more wishes you find yourself back at the moment you first found/activated the lamp. Standard AD&D trick to handle that situation. You wish for riches and you get a whole vault full the Sultans private jewelry that everyone recognizes. This is a standard story set up found in several old books.
Have you heard of the seven fold law? It is taught by modern wiccans/mages, "what ever you do or put out into the world comes back to you seven fold seven times." Law of reward: That is if you use magic to help people for their sake you get good back 49 times the good you did. Law of retribution: If you harm people or seemingly do good but for selfish reasons you get harmed 49 times what you did. Between these two laws the law of reward and retribution it is almost impossible to do magic without back lash to ones self. You must do your magic with a pure heart and no thought of the rewards you get. Yet the seven fold law and its' two sub laws are among the first things a teacher in modern magic covers... for this very reason. Magic in legend (and from what modern practitioners have told me, I have studied meditation and meta-physics) is the most powerful and the trickiest thing in the world to play with. The advise of the SAGES was and is leave it alone.
I could not disagree more. You try to sound logical and then quote Wiccan concepts as though they were widely accepted ( they're not). Bear in mind, Cpt. Renard is not a government drone; he appears to rule his own fiefdom, has a lot of clout, what the Japanese call. "A broad face". He might report to the mayor, but hardly anyone else. If you've ever spent any time abroad, you will know that American regulations about not sleeping with subordinates or their partners is NOT a rule much followed in, say, Sweden. My husband has traveled widely and the stories he can tell! Renard has European attitudes toward love. Also, you make it sound as if Nick and Juliette were married. They're not, and for many good reasons. Juliette is not Nick's property in any respect--she broke up with him and is now free to seek another partner. I also feel your characterization of Cpt Renard is very unfair. He has many noble qualities; he's highly intelligent, thoughtful, an excellent leader. He didn't "sleep around", per se. He has only, as far as we've seen, had relations with his own kind, I.e., Hexenbiests, the female equivalent of Zauberbiests, and even then it was mostly serial monogamy...he had split with Katherine before taking up with Adalind, and he loved Adalind until she betrayed him. If someone is more a fan of Nick (pour ses beaux yeux bleus?) then just say so...these fine-spun theories that Sean is nothing but a sleazy villain don 't hold any water at all. Also, Eric was a very very bad guy, no question. In the words of Gilbert and Sullivan, "he'll never be missed." Although since we never saw a body, I've long suspected that it was a double who died, and Eric may yet pop up again like Jack-in-the-box.
