Not necessarily. Nick may be very insecure and like a lot of things about him, hiding it. Consider Nick's background. We know very little to nothing about his father, and even though Kelly pops into his life later, we find out next to nothing about her. In fact, I think it's interesting that it's Kelly herself who provides some background on Nick's father. According to Kelly, on the night when the big meanies came for her, there wasn't much time. Presumably these people were after the coins. In itself, this is a strange statement because Kelly would have had the background on the coins and would have to be an imbecile to think no one would come after them.
That aside, in haste, Kelly sends Reed and her friend, Gina Serafini, who just happens to be staying with them, off together. Kelly doesn't give them a destination at which to meet up with her later.
Does Kelly want them to be together? Why place Nick with Marie? Doesn't he belong with his father?
Kelly's oversight results in tragic consequences for Reed and for poor Gina, who has her burnt head removed because the meanies thought she was a Grimm.
Kelly tells Nick, "you remember the night your Aunt Marie came to pick you up". Nick replies that he remembers everything about that night, yet he doesn't act like her remembers Gina, who was staying with them.
Did Reed ever love Kelly? Did she ever love him?
Could Reed and Gina have been romantically involved? After all, they were both human.
Could Nick have suspected problems with his parents, one being a Grimm and the other being human?
One of the topics here was that Nick kept things from Juliette, like not telling her that his mother was alive and well. Not speaking for anyone else, but that sounds a lot like insecurity to me.
Marie may have been warning Nick because she felt he was too insecure to handle life with a human. Marie never degrades Juliette, but instead redirects the misfortune back to Nick's family.
The best way to frustrate a cyberbully is to ignore him.
