The second part of season 4 there was a clear drop (Evil hexenbiest) while the rating during season 5 and season 6 were stable.
TV producer look at the demo to decide to keep a show. Please look at my chart I created using SpoilerTV numbers and software.

This pole which is just one of them around the web was from TV Line.
I am not saying S5 had bad ratings. I only meant there was a stager after S5xe6, ofcourse as the episodes went on, it stayed high and stable sort of as long as the writers kept high hopes for Nadalind, that is why I included the writers keeping thier fans in suspence. S5xe1 to e5 had really good ratings, then it dropped wicked after e6 and then rose again, only gradual. Even an approximate scale on your graph shows it.
In order for a poll to have meaning either the sample is random or you have other polls using the same audience to compare to. Yes, the number of people who answer the poll matters and if they can answer it multiple times is important too.
The fact is small changes in rating are often caused by holidays, the ratings of other shows at that time, and the ratings of the show before. Some Juliette/Nick ( ex. Mindy) shippers posters have use my charts and said it support them when most people see a stable demo during the season 5 and 6.
Women characters do not have to be having sex with the lead to be important to the story.
