That makes some sense. The stick did heal those he liked and repelled at least one enemy in the past.
You don't have to be a Grimm to wield the Stick. The Stick bonding with Nick had nothing to do with him being a Grimm. He was the first person to touch it in 800 Years thus becoming the owner of the Stick. If any other character was the first person to touch it they would become the owner of the stick.
So correct meaning if a evil person like Conrad had found it ..the power would had been his,, or Renard if he found it
