In the Original Timeline Sean was always meant to be brought back to life. They only way she would have created an alternate reality or timeline is if she went back in time to save him or she had a premonition of his death and changed events. Otherwise everything happened like it was suppose to.
Had Elizabeth not saved Seans life more than likely the same events would have transpired. Nick and Co would have met her at Seans funeral if she had it in Portland. Although how the events actually could have transpired is unknown. There is multiple ways things could have played out.
In the Original Timeline Elizabeth helped Nick only because Sean told her he needed Nick to protect Diana. I think it would be just as likely they would have killed Adalind or someone else killed Adalind since IMO that would have likely broke the potion. The potion acted like suppressant by giving Nick headaches connected to Adalind to prevent his extra eye cones from working.
They wouldn't have killed Adalind at all. Adalind was locked up for like 4-6 months before she came back to Portland. She was pregnant by time she came back to Portland. They would have tried to strike a deal with Adalind to restore Nick Grimm abilities. Killing her wouldn't have even remotely restored them. The only way Nick could get his powers back is the spell Elizabeth had Juilette do.
Sean and Elizabeth had no idea where Adalind was so she would have not brought up Adalind. Elizabeth was told by Sean it was important to him that Nick get his powers back not wait years to find Adalind. If Adalind was killed or her hexenbeist killed again because this is a different timeline, Nick might have gotten his powers back too.
Grimm narrative was the Grimm team could not tell Adalind was pregnant due to a coat no matter how big she was (see below).
Adalind was pregnant when she left Portland in 322. Adalind found out she was pregnant in "Bad Luck" 414 but she left Europe for Portland in "Wesenrein" 409 and show up in Portland in "Maréchaussée" 412. The real Claire whose pregnancy was conceived in the middle of 2015 a likely date for baby Kelly conception was huge by then and wearing a coat in the biest fight "Bad Luck". In "Hibernaculum" 617 Juliette sees Adalind when she tries to kill her to me Adalind looks huge pregnant but the narrative is Juliette could not tell yet. The Nick only learns about Adalind's pregnancy a week before the baby birth. Again baby Kelly born in 501 and the real baby was born between 422 and 501.
Women characters do not have to be having sex with the lead to be important to the story.
