Nick and Monroe couldn't travel under their own names because they didn't know if BC would be looking for them or how deep they were in the European governments. And I don't think Monroe was using his uncle's documents, I think they made him new ones just using his uncle's name.
The whole "seven keys" premise seems really poorly thought through if the answer is all on one key and the rest just give you context. I would think that you need all seven keys at some point - perhaps to actually open whatever the keys are made for? Maybe that's the Mac guffin - they bring back the chest but they can't open it (it's got some failsafe self destruct or something) and see what's inside till they get the other two keys, conveniently from BC I'm sure.
