If it was all of the staffs of legend it could part seas, rain down fire and ice, level mountains, cause floods, etc. According to the prophecy that came with the stick, Z was going to destroy the world and remake it to suit his purposes.
That was stated, but it was never actually proven. In any case, I don't believe this particular staff was able to read thoughts, much less the subconscious like Nick's digestive processes.
Nick was holding it when he went over to Adalind's dead body. He was there long enough to squat down next to her, look at her, take her hand, remove the ring, and toss it away. All this before picking the stick back up. I can't speak for anyone else, but if Nick had the presence of mind to look at her dead face and then remove the ring, that seems to strongly imply that she was on his mind.
Why then wouldn't the staff have simply read his thoughts and restored her to him?
It would have been the perfect time.
*If* it could read thoughts, that is.
Once again nothing but another straw man argument from you , what was actually shown was Nick dropped the staff before Mourning Adalinds body then he came to the realisation he could bring them back after looking at the staff again once he removed Adalinds ring, he remembered how trubel was helped he then grabbed the staff to do just that and as soon he grabbed it Zerstorer crumbled away and within seconds he was Back in Monroes living rooom after being dragged through the portal against he will. No hint whatsoever Nick had any idea.
If Nick had the power and control you claim why even bother dropping the staff to mourn Adalind he simply could have reset time as soon as he killed Zerstorer.
Also it’s clear he just over mourning Adalind at first then notices the ring and remembers the ring and takes it off and throws it away.
