Maybe this is just an attempt, in these threads, to revive or continue, a show that has been cancelled?
Maybe its just another idiotic argument, BUT:
There was never any time travel.
There was never the "Z" guy invading Portland.
There was never a 1st time coming back
There was never anyone in the gang dying.
There was never anyone revived.
If anyone did die, it was the "Z" guy or he was just defeated in "The Other Place", cut off from this reality and lost his staff permanently.
Once Nick crossed over to 'The Other Place", it was all played out in his mind or what ever other orchestrated explanation you wish to choose what occurred in "The Other Place". The 1st time he came back never took place either. It was just another mind trick played out in his mind. It was all a con to get him to hand over the stick which the "Z" could not take. It could only be given to him
Nick only went once in "The Other Place". There he defeated the "Z" guy and once he was killed, he came back when we saw him come back the second and only time. That is how it was explained by Kelly in the epilogue. And yes, it was second hand and years later.
If there was a "writers screw-up"? A better argument should be to the question to ask is: Why did it take 20 years to amend the "Grimm Book", by Kelly, instead of the usual , a day or two later, for Nick to update the Grimm Book himself. My theory is, it was the writers way to condense the other 9 episodes they didn't get to make for the 6th & final season
Take it as an opinion, fact, or what ever else you choose to make it. This is the version which makes more sense than all these other entertaining attempts to complicate something that was much more simple.
I am not a screen play writer but some of you are giving this uncomplicated arc way too much dept that it actually had.
Dicappatore, the writers stated it wasn’t a dream all the deaths actually happened it’s just Zerstorer dying that reversed it.
If it was all in Nicks head how is Adalinds cursed ring gone when he returns.
IGN: What were the logistics of Nick coming through the portal at the end? Was that another instance of him going through to the Other Side and leaving behind the reality where all these characters are dead, or did he get a hard reset?
KOUF: Yeah, it was a hard reset. When the Zerstörer died, it was as though he never came through, so it reset to that point.
According to them it was a hard reset and I think the writers know their own show better than any of us me included.
Sounds like you say toma-e-to, I say to toma-o-to. If it was in his mind or a reset, his gang never died in the current time line. Using the argument of the ring is another screw up from the writers. How does a reset remove the ring from Adalind? In the reset, she never dies for him to take it off as she lay dead. The ring was not a curse from "Z". So why would his death effect it? It was a cursed ring from Bonaparte, How would killing "Z" effect the ring? If it was removed by Nick, how could it be removed from the reset if she never dies in the current time line.
I won't stake a claim on the insight of writers intent but I can make a claim on writers screwing up arcs and the "Z" arc is a big screw up by not clarifying that whole "Other Place" sequence.
Take the whole "Other Place" set up. The set was crap, the natives attire was amateurish and just by chance, they spoke old German. Give me a break. Talk about a rushed flocked up arc that was put together by, what looked like, a high school production.
Taken in the explanation from the writers:
Quote:KOUF: it was as though he never came through, so it reset to that point.
That quote can also support my theory.
You know you are OLD, when you see the Slide Ruler you used in college selling in an ANTIQUE SHOP!!
