What do you think the usual cause of that is? Is it from the directors, writers of a certain episode, the showrunners, network interference, or all of the above and then some?

With the rise of social media, just about any show that's lasted has their showrunners and writers do something like this. It's nothing new.
Even if for some reason they didn't feel compelled, I have a feeling the people cutting the check feel otherwise. Every show I watch has the writers giving interviews and answering questions. Even shows with the lowest ratings do this as well. It's not just network shows or shows on premium channels. The writers of shows like Krypton and Arrow will take time to explain their vision just as much as the writers of Westworld would.
I see it like how coaches and players are forced to give postgame interviews even though a lot of them don't have much of a desire to do so.

How is it not canon if they’re simply explaining what they meant by certain scenes on their own show there’re just giving conformation to storylines that maybe confusing to some fans.
Point out to me on any script where it says this is canon at the top it doesn’t need to have that written at the top beacuse we know it’s canon. Does it say before every episode of Grimm everything on the screen right now is canon no it doesn’t beacuse it doesn’t need to we already know it’s canon because the writers are presenting it to us. Just like in the the interviews they are presenting us with what the information onscreen in certain scenes meant. It’s all canon.
Irk, we will have to agree to disagree here beacuse were just going around in circles were never going to agree on this one.
I guess I brought up context at the correct time because there's an irony going on since I posted it.
