At the end of the day, that whole scene of Adalind looking like Juliette comes down to, two consenting adults having sex. If it was rape? It is going to be hard to apply to the real world. As close as you can come to it in recent times is when you hear stories about female teachers taking advantage of their male students. But in those cases, it has to do more with an adult taking advantage of a minor.
I, myself have referred to that act as Nick being raped by Adalind to make it more excusable for Nick to be accused of cheating. At first, Juliette was horrified and blamed him for not realizing it wasn’t her. Soon after it looked as if she accepted it as not cheating, swept it under the rug and looked as if she forgave him or forgot it. Eventually, after she is a full-blown Hexenbiest, it sure looked like she never actually forgave him or forgot it. I am sure, the fact of Adalind having his kid didn’t help much.
As for the scene when Juliette does the Renard transformation, I myself used it to support my theory of the promiscuous persona that was living inside Juliette from the get-go. In reality, I don’t know what these writers were thinking? Were they trying to impress or out-perform all the other TV series on how outrageous they could go? At the same time, they did not go through with, IMO, they originally wanted to do, a lesbian scene by not using two women and backed off at the last minute. To me, this is another example of the inconsistencies they wrote in these characters.
IMO, since I am old school, and still think the two genders, when talking about sexuality, we are not created equal. I don’t wish to debate that fact. All you have to do is look at the world of prostitution. Even making the argument that males make more money than females around the world. It does not explain why the ratio of female prostitutes to their male counterparts is almost non-existence. You can quote all the studies and trials conducted by all the experts. The reality is what it is.
So, going back to the Adalind faking to be Juliette and having sex with Nick might be legally a “Rape”. Let’s be real folks. Juliette was more upset about that whole incident than Nick.
