It showed how far she'd come towards trusting Nick and what they had together.
A good thread can also tie into the Adalind Nick thread in some ways. Juliette for whatever reason was insecure with Nick. Not having a background on her own family we can't see the cause of this. We seen Nick jealous but not insecure and he did have a reason in season 2, but not insecure.
Now take Adalind Juliette/Eve is staying in the fome but we don't see her being insecure so can we take away the point she knows and has total trust in Nick. We also have a scene where Adalind and Nick talk about this living arrangement showing Nick is taking Adalind feeling into account. We do know some of Adalind background so we could understand her if she was somewhat insecure, with her dad leaving at age 4.
However, I must say that Nick does exhibit some of his insecurities where Adalind's concerned, especially at the beginning of the show. When he first sees the ring on her finger, the night when she comes home to the loft and he repeats how he felt when she "left" him and then later when she tells him about Renard not being Bonaparte's killer and he gives an incredulous comment about Adalind defending Renard. He came across as jealous. And we see more of this Nick in one of the deleted scenes where he asked Adalind's about Renard's new home (which was gorgeous imo). He doesn't voice his insecurities a lot, and not even blatantly but you can clearly see his demeanor change when something makes him uncomfortable.
Adalind had none of these issues in S6. It seems they were exorcised the night he came to her at the mansion.
I was wondering about that. I wonder what exactly Nick was supposed to have done to make Adalind feel so secure about their relationship that she would show no signs of jealousy or insecurity about Eve/Juliette working together with Nick. I wish the writers delved more into that, because Nick still seemed quite unsure about his relationship with Adalind in season 5. There were glimpses of his actual feelings for her, but he wasn't as open with his feelings as she was towards him. And yes, I don't know if the writers did it deliberately but I noticed that Nick seemed rather touchy when it comes to Adalind and Renard, Nick acted pissed off and immediately jumped to the conclusion that Adalind was defending Renard when she told him about Bonaparte.
I think there's a difference between S5 and S6 regarding Nick's feelings for Adalind. In S5 the mistrust was probably more towards her old self returning and in S6 it was his insecurity over her "leaving" him for Renard. He understood what drove her to do that but he was still deeply hurt over it. I don't think he ever wanted to play nice with Renard. It was Adalind who made the decision to involve him at the end of the show only because Nick was trapped in another world and they needed all the help they could get. Adalind's way over Renard but perhaps Nick never truly got that after BC used her and Kelly to bolster his family image for all Portland to see.
I thought that Nick's insecurities regarding Adalind and Renard also came out when he told Renard that 'she never turned me down'. Like he was almost saying 'in your face, she loves me not you'. Then when the three of them were in the old house in the woods, Nick went up to Adalind to hug her like he was almost drawn to her, and Renard kind of made a face, like he's realising that he can't break Adalind and Nick's relationship even if he may have wanted to. It seems like everyone was so focused on the JuliEve/Nick/Adalind triangle that this other love triangle was kind of ignored. Yeah, it wasn't as obvious as the former, but still I thought there were moments that showed the hidden rivalry between Nick and Renard. Btw, have you seen the deleted episode of el cuegle? I thought it showed just how passionate and intense Nick's and Adalind's relationship was, their chemistry was off the charts. Adalind clearly seemed to enjoy taking charge when it came to their intimate moments.
