My favorite thing to do other than watching Grimm on Friday is coming here to read all ye good folks' comment and post my own.
Wow! I don't even know where to start with this one, so I guess I will start with complementing the Juliette actress who played Adalind so well when she was metamorphosed Adalind.
And I can see why Juliette was so disturbed by the Nick / Adalind situation. As a female, even if my partner did not emotionally cheat on me, the fact remained that he still did, physically. 'sides, it was a combination of everything -- her getting a curse put on her, all the Wesens in their lives, Trubel, and now this... so long as she stays in a relationship with Nick, it will continue to be complicated, in addition to your normal lovers' issue. It might be a wise choice for her to want out. I like that Serpent girl from Season 1 or 2, she will make a good Grimm partner. I just don't know if Nick has an appreciation for women with such strong personality.
I absolutely hate that Adalind character but in the Grimm writers' defense, you probably need to have at least one super villain character in a show like this to make the plot more interesting. Though personally I am quite happy with simple MOTW with funny dialogs between the characters. And in Adalind's defense, she's a grieving mother who "lost" her child, I think many mothers will do just about anything to be with their child, let alone just taking the power away from a Grimm, who made her lost her power before.
And please, please, please do not have A pregnant with Nick's child. That would for sure ruin the show.
Trubel for the second episode in a row acted perfectly in the situation, except for barging into the chapel. Ugh. She should have gotten the attention of one of the others -- Hank, Juliette, or even Monroe or Rosaly, then discreetly meet up with Nick and gave him the potion, or barged in to grab Nick to the truck... Then again, Monroe/Rosely should have politely uninvited Nick to the wedding when they had a bad feeling, I am sure Nick would not have any bad feeling about that. OR Renard could have called and warned Nick / Juliette once he realized Adalind was in their house stealing personal items... all the coulda, woulda, shoulda... bottom-line: there will be no conflict / story if everything goes the nice, smooth ideal way.
I am sure Nick will get his Grimm power back next season. From a show's perspective, I don't imagine you can swap out the protagonist altogether. Ugh. From the story line perspective, even if Nick wants to lead life as a normal human being, too many people already know he's a Grimm, many will surely want to take him out while he lost his power. He is pretty much stuck with living his Grimm life. How else can he continue his job investigating all the Wesen-related cases without his Grimm power? I just hope whatever it is, he'll get his Grimm power back within the first three episodes, dragging it out like Juliette's season would be quite painful.
