I hope it's okay if I answer you here.
I'm trying to answer your question out of my point of view. I've been writing fanfiction for years. At the beginning I wrote clearly for feedback. But not anymore. The writing of fanfiction is my hobby. I do it with a lot of fun and pleasure. I have nothing of it but I enjoy to play with the characters of a series and put them into a different scene.
When I write fanfic, I'm thinking about ideas with what would be if... - or I will take a little bit of the scene script - and I simply rewrite the episode scenes as I personally would have liked to see in the episode.
If you have any questions, please let me know : )

So please forgive my denseness. Part of the reason I inhabit this forum as I have had the good fortune of having so many forum posters alter my own perceptions of issues and matters as a result of coming to understand their point of view. That being stated...
If I understand you reply you are stating that you simply get some sort of innate pleasure from writing fanfiction. At one point the interaction or feedback from those who read your works was a motivating factor but now you simply get utils of pleasure from the creative process or actually producing something tangible from your thoughts about a show or character.
Is the interpretation of you r words, italicized above, accurate?

P.S. I truly appreciate your indulgence in my questions.
No problem. Yes, when I have starting with writing Fanfic back in 2008 there I was 18 - 19 years old and I liked to get as much feedback as possible.
My first Fanfiction I have ever post was Buffy and then Bones. These two were and are one of the most popular fandoms.
Over the years it has evolved that I no longer have the desire to satisfy the reader. Rather, me in the first place. I know it sounds, snootily. Of course, it is great to get feedback. It is a nice side effect. But I prefer couples which aren't that often.
