"The End" was still being edited and not been sent out yet. Even picking a different thing for Diana to say like "mom and dads" would have been tough to do but not impossible. G&K could have changed how they interpreted the show to please some fans. G&K points out that Diana calls Nick "dad" in some of their final interviews.
