The coins were stashed somewhere by Kelly. To my knowledge she didn't even tell Nick where they are, so their probably gone forever. Or until someone gets lucky and stumbles across them.
I think this was just another clumsy plot device by G&K to get the coins off the board so they didn't have to consider them in the story line any longer.
How hard was it to have Kelly sell Nick she took the coins back to Greece and threw them in whatever hole was deemed necessary for the story?!
I agree with you about that. My thought was that the writer's wanted to keep open the possibility of bringing the coins back into the story at some point. Remember that Eve told Nick in HW HQ that Hitler was the last one to try the whole "wesen take over the world" deal? And that Hitler was shown on one of the Grimm films Nick has wearing two of the coins as lapel pins?
IMO the writer's may have thought about bringing the coins into the BC deal at first, but later just decided to drop it.
Oh, I think the writers have completely forgotten all about the coins several plot points over the course of 5 1/2 years. BC could have been looking for the coins and Grimm books!
Where are those confounded coins?
I predict if the coins resurface that the new Mayor Royal Prince Sean Renard will be wearing the coveted coins in his lapels. The coins will give him a "rush of power" and his dastardly deeds will be even more despicable.
