Batman is a vigilante crimefighter. He never took an oath to uphold the law. If he chooses, he can beat a suspect senseless to get the information he wants. If he sees a crime being committed, he can make the decision to kill the criminal right there on the spot. No one's going to argue about the criminal's rights because it's not a law enforcement officer doing the killing. It's the vigilante, Batman. Nick is not allowed to do any of those things.
Does this make batman less criminal?
