I mean, in 1 episode his metabolism slowed down so much that Juliette, a trained medical professional, thought he was dead. That's pretty extreme.
They should have resolved it somehow. Even if it was just to say that it slowly wore off after a while. Lame, but believable.
Stuff like this just bugs me. Maybe there is a way that the writers plan on integrating the zombie powers and the super hearing in future episodes, but for now, I don't see that going on. These things just come off as forgotten plot threads. Unfortunate, since I think they're cool.
But I think there is a way they could be tied up:

That might be a very unexpected wrinkle for those who think him completely powerless. I think the residual effects of Nicks period of zombification may be independent of Nick's Grimm powers and may give him an edge in the possible attacks he is likely to start getting once it is deseminated that there is a powerless Grimm in Portland
I hope that -- or something like it! -- happens, Starfury. That would help knit everything together in a nice way. (Btw, nice B5 signature.)
Thank you, Susan Ivanova is still one of my favorite female protagonists in a TV show
I also agree the Nick zombification powers were left dangling and really irked me. They need to have someone overlooking the shows continuity to ensuring this sort of thing is not left flapping in the wind.
It would be logical to start overtly manifesting these powers now as it could be argued that his former Grimm powers being so overwhelming tended to obscure the subtler zombie powers and now being deGrimmed means that their manifestation become more obvious. A nice scene between Rosalee, Munroe and Nick where he confesses/discusses the powers would be nice, with Rosalee consulting her library and coming to some conclusion regarding the powers and at least providing some justification and clarification of this for the viewers.
Doctor: You betrayed me … betrayed my trust. You betrayed our friendship, you betrayed everything that I’ve ever stood for. You let me down!
Clara: Then why are you helping me?
Doctor: Why? Do you think I care for you so little that betraying me would make a difference?
