Imo, the writers did just fine with each one's experience with the existence of the wesen world. They responded in what would be a natural way and is the very reason all kehrseite were kept from the knowledge of a second reality they shared with their own - the experience could be crazy-making.
Each one's case was interesting to see and made for some empathy for the mental suffering Wu and Hank and Nick endured. And added to the 'evolution' of the characters enough for this viewer to accept the weave of the fabric of the show, with no important holes or breaks in the pattern. My idea is that most of those who were bothered to the extent of the inconsistencies dominating their concentration on what was happening on the screen probably stopped watching. Except for a certain few.
