This show was originally a lead in for Longmire and was on A&E, so we tuned in to watch it as well. It was cancelled after four seasons, but it is available on Hulu, so I am watching it a second time. To be honest, I had forgotten a lot of the show, so in a way, it was just like watching it for the first time. There are some elements to the show that bugged me, and if anyone has watched it, I thought they might be worth discussing. The show centers around Jim Longworth a detective who has problems with his boss in Chicago and gets shot for his trouble. He relocates to Palm Glade in Florida, and becomes the resident smart alecky cop detective. Eventually Jim hooks up with Callie Cargill, a nurse whose husband is in prison at the beginning of the series. Jim makes friends with her son, and eventually becomes serious about her. This occurs after her husband is released from prison and they get a divorce.
I know I've done a lot of complaining about Grimm, and while Jim isn't outrageously breaking the law for his own benefit, I don't get shows that dress detectives so casually that they look like they're going bowling or to the bar instead of professionally investigating a case. he's also not even that likeable. He's a smart alecky detective who finds clues and then puts them together on three or four wrong potential suspects before finally getting getting it right with the last one. Stopping here for discussion. I would like to know if you have watched the show and if you liked it. I am on season 4, which was the last for this show.
