I would imagine Nick and Adalind may be together but doubt if they got married. In a lot of relations when the children have different parents. no mater what the adult relationship is. They refer to their birth parents as mom and dad. This is especially true when divorcee is involved. When divorcee is not the case it works that way when the absent parent plays a significant roll in the child life.
This is really prevalent when you see a birth mother hear her child call some other women mom. Most that I know find this very upsetting. Even if the other women marries the child's father. We have seen Sean has made it clear he intends on being a major influence in his daughters life. Nick is also a chivalrous individual I don't think he would want Diana to refer to him as dad at a determent to Sean.
