She seemed pretty agitated after she broke that guy's fingers, with all those "oh my gods."
What Adalind actually told Rosalee was that being a hexenbiest affects the way you think and feel, not that it actually takes control of you. You could probably say the same thing about becoming enormously rich or politically powerful, like certain real-world people who managed to become billionaires or political leaders.
"You don't understand what it's like being a Hexenbiest-What it does to you, the way it makes you think and feel".
I took that to mean that the hexenbiest does controls its host, and as the result of that, thoughts and feelings are affected. As they well would be. Look at Nick, Renard, and Wu. The various entities/poisons that possessed them caused them to think and feel differently.

Actually what Adalind says is this:
"You don't understand what it's like being a Hexenbiest-What it does to you, the way it makes you think and feel".
I took that to mean that the hexenbiest is in control of its host, and as the result of that, thoughts and feelings are affected. As they well would be. Look at Nick, Renard, and Wu. The various entities/poisons that possessed them caused them to think and feel differently. The only difference with a hexenbiest is apparently the host is aware of whats going on, but can't control the hexenbiest spirit, at least what I gathered, according to Adalind.
And perhaps that's why Eve came into being. Eve is actually the hexenbiest while "Juliette" is relegated to the windmills of the mind and has no power.

That's a possible interpretation. OTOH, we have Elizabeth and Henrietta, two hexenbiests who appeared to be quite well self-controlled. In the absence of a clear statement that there's a separate hexenbiest spirit that makes a hexenbiest do things against her will, as in, "the hexenbiest takes control and does what it wants, regardless of what I think or feel," it just sounds to me like someone trying to blame their bad behavior on their neuroses.

Sure it does. Just like it's sounds idiotic that Nick would completely be able to murder someone and not remember a shred of it, or Wu change into a werewolf and not remember it, or Renard being possessed by a ghost and not remember it. This is Grimm. Anything goes.

The difference between these cases is that we as the audience could actually see Nick, Renard and Wu struggling against the effects of things imposed upon them by others that resulted in them acting suddenly and impulsively, while in Adalind's case we saw her methodically mixing up potions and committing illegal entries and thefts to steal hair samples, clothing, etc., that she needed for her plots. IOW, deliberate and premeditated actions.

I was talking about her conversation with Rosalee. After Adalind makes her little confession to Rosalee, she also adds, "It's not good". She never says that she didn't like it, though.

Exactly. Adalind lost her hexenbiest in s01. Her reaction was to get revenge and head off to Europe to scheme a way to get her powers back. Didn't seem to change the way she felt or thought for the better, did it?
Did suppressing her powers in s04 really change the way she felt or thought? If so, why didn't she turn back into a disagreeable, scheming person when the suppressant wore off and her powers came back?
