The last one were said to be very brave and often seen on the forefront of battles. This one was said to be very good fighters, but not aggressive or quarrelsome by nature and they had to be severely provoked. While they may be related, they are not the same.
After all, we've seen about six different canine wesen: blutbaden, fuchsbauen, coyotl, hundjaeger, tzachaln, and wildsheern.
Sure. and since most of these Weson have some kind of animal analogies, just like there are lots of different genera of dogs ( wolves, foxes, jackals, coyotes,) there are lots of different genera of the cattle family. Besides cattle, buffalos, bison, and oxen, there are all those different kinds of cattle.
There used to be a chart of the different categories of Weson (fan made). not sure if its still out there of its being kept current. but I can't find it anymore.
