Most war movies I see the errors the wrongs and I say so what it was just a movie, but not always the movie Platoon was rated high, but I was there in that time frame and with that Division. So that movie tick me off no end because it was not even close to what was happening then.
Point being the ones on the forum with police family see Nick as wrong because they may see it as a showing police in a bad light so Nick can't be a hero. I see Grimm as fantasy so I can see him and Trubel as the heros, but I do understand their point.
Great point.
I remember sometime ago some friends had recommended a book to me that at the time was on the New York bestseller list because part of the story was set in my country of birth. I really had to restrain myself from ripping up the book because most of it was just so unbelievable to me. I couldn't enjoy the book because I knew too much. I also had to restrain myself from telling those friends that the book was total nonsense; that the author should have done more research or just used a fictional country. However, when I separated my inside knowledge and judged the book for the story that it was trying to tell, it was really a good book. Still not a fan though. Lol. So I understand where some people are coming from as well.
Just last week I was listening to a seminar by a psychologist. He made sure to point to that about 95% of what we see on TV about psychologists and psychiatrists 'treating' patients is a misrepresentation of their work.
I don't know much about the inner workings of police departments, but I certainly wouldn't apply what I saw on Grimm to real life police departments or officers especially since I saw it as a fantasy show. Most of Grimm is unbelievable anyway. I did learn a little more about 'real' police departments from some posters though.
