Meisner's a mercenary so I believe his thoughts about Adalind were as far away from a religious experience as they could be. I just think he views Adalind differently than Nick does. Nick tends to view Adalind in somewhat the same manner as an adolescent. Meisner seems to view Adalind as an adult.
I have no doubt that Nick's thoughts were tainted by the fact that Adalind spent a wild afternoon with him and he continues to wonder if that would be the same if he slept with her again.
