I think it's incorrect to say Adalind is weak. She's not as tough as Eve but that's due to Eve being a made hexenbiest who was stronger than most born hexenbiests according to the show. I imagine she would have given Henrietta and Elisabeth a run for their money if given the chance before HW got to her. Adalind was crafty and very cunning at the start of the show but after becoming a mother, she made choices that would benefit her children first before anything else so she stayed away from repeating past behavior, promising to raise both her children the right way. Adalind is probably is quick learner, Elisabeth was surprised she managed to perform the spell to strip Nick of his powers.
Catherine had a very large library but I hardly it was about how to be a good person. Adalind associated the hexenbiest with doing terrible things having had that experience. Eve only asked for the books late into season 6 because she was looking for something specific, before that, I think Adalind left her mother's books in the storage unit from a few seasons back. Eve with HW prioritised the mission, getting the job done and in S6 that meant knowing as much as possible about the stick, it's relation to Zerstörer and how to stop him. Both women are continuing in the choices they made (or made for them) in S5. Adalind having different priorities doesn't make her "weak" unless physical strength is all you're referring to.
If Adalind wanted to be a formidable hexenbiest, I don't doubt she would have succeeded, she chose motherhood over that and that's not weakness in my book.
