Juliette was always a strong character. Juliette learned to use a gun and carried it. That is why she turned Nick down and gave back the ring. That is why she never agreed to married him and especially after he got his grimm back. Juliette earned a lot more money than Nick and was able to hide from him for months when he is a detective.
