I hope not.
Yep they were sexual partners...and I guess they did not mind
need to check season 2
I don't think Adalind knew about her mom sleeping with Sean. Catherine wasn't so ignorant, I'd be willing to bet they were together before Renard started sleeping with Adalind.

Go back to the apt meeting when she took off to Renard's after Kelly brings them to Portland. They are talking and Adalind says you slept with my mother when taking about how well they would fit together.

I do. Diana and Kelly are plot elements that never should have been introduced much less developed.
Yes, I agree. But I was talking more about what she is - a child with immense powers, a powerful entity in a child’s body… At times, Diana seems very childlike but other times she seems to be toying with the adults around her. Could be the combination of rapid growth & immense powers makes her mentally mature enough to know she can manipulate, and the best way to accomplish that.
And of course, that could be a plot element/twist also. G&K are purposely not committing until they're ready for her to be one or the other.

I think they could have been good plot elements to further expand on Nicks and Adalinds characters.
1. How did Nick and Adalind grow up?
We know Kelly left Nick with Aunt Marie when he was between 10-12 years old. We also know Adalind's father left her when she was really young. We also know she was home schooled. Finding out a little bit more about their childhood could have given more depth to each character.
Why did Nick become a police officer? How did Aunt Marie and Kelly hide their grimm duties from Nick? What type of spells/tricks did Catherine teach Adalind? Was Adalind father human or Zauberbiest?
2. How do Nick and Adalind want to raise Kelly?
Nick has a strong dislike for Hexnbiest and Hxenbiest have a strong dislike for grimms. We they deny Kelly Zauberbiest or Grimm side? Both? What would Nick be willing to sacrifice for Kelly?
This give Nick the chance to side the wesen world in a whole new light with having a son who is wesen. Will he show the wesen community a little more empathy? Especially young wesen.
These things could have been super beneficial towards Nick character growth but the writers are afraid.

Why do you think Kelly is wesen? We have seen no powers yet so he could just be a GRIMM or Grimm with some biest-like powers relevant to the needs of a Grimm. Wesen seem to need to woge as part of what they are while Grimms seem not to.
Women characters do not have to be having sex with the lead to be important to the story.

Do you think Nick and Adalind are destined (as parents) to repeat the sins of their parents?
For instance, Adalind made the statement she wants to raise her kids right, which tells me her intent was to put her kids first. But yet if you look at her actions last season and in the last couple of episodes, the kids have been second place to Nick.
Nick for a time was raised by Marie, who was not his mother. I think she was probably not a very loving person and kept her distance from Nick. Nick hasn't gone and done things to make us believe parenthood has changed him for the better. He has also kept his distance from Diana.
The best way to frustrate a cyberbully is to ignore him.

No surprise I would disagree with your points on Nick. Would he nice to know the family history of Adalind and Nick but would it add to the plot? From season 5 we found out that Monroe knew the name Kessler but not know Burkhardt. IMO Marie we can get an idea she did care for and love Nick, but looK by looking at how she told Nick to deal with wesen. Someone that think only the bad wesen needed to be stopped.
Kelly because she did attack Monroe and Rosalee showed a harder person now she left Nick at age 12 to get the coins, never explained why she did it not Marie, how about this they thought she was dead, being dead helps one to move around because they are not looking for you. If the knew about Marie they may have tried to track her that was why she had to keep on the move. Now likely (on this I could be wrong) you see the moving as bad for Nick but a military family makes moves all the time.
So we Nick had a loving upbring by Marie. Now for Adalind Catherine we know had some problems she needed help with from Sean so she used Adalind to end these problems. The scene we saw after she lost her powers says a lot about the relationship. We also get the feeling at the grave that Adalind wanted to love her mom, but as she says if going to raise her children differently and so far has.
Now when you look at Nick he has friends when you look at Adalind does she we never seen any, but now with Nick his friend have helped her.
Now if Bonaparte could see Adalind future, would he have seen how Nick had changed her future?
