Right. Kelly is an after thought. As such, that would not make Adalind mother of the year.

We don't even know what her plan for his development is. Does she want him to be a Grimm? Does she want him to be a zauerbiest? A combination of the two or does she just want him to be a human child? Something tells me watching Adalind running through phonics flashcards with baby Kelly wouldn't make for thrilling TV... Seriously, what do you expect the show to include to prove Adalind is a great mom in addition to what they've already shown us? First off, Kelly is an infant, so their is only so much she can do. Secondly, we've gotten to witness her doing all the things she should. Adalind: drops everything when she hears her baby cry so she can see what he needs, feeds him, changes him, uses a car seat, talks to him a lot, talks to him about his sister and how she hopes they'll meet one, most importantly, she has put her life on hold and moved into a warehouse on the edge of the city in order to keep her son safe, as well as keep him near his father. I also see her choice to name her son after Nick's mom as a powerful testament to how hard she it trying to change for her new family and how dearly she wants Kelly to be a good person with a strong connection to his father's family. Based on all that it seems pretty reasonable to assume Adalind is doing a lot more behind the scenes that would illustrate her love and devotion for her children that we simply don't get to see because it's all too humdrum. Put another way, just because they didn't film a scene in which Adalind opens a savings account meant to act as Kelly's college fund doesn't mean she hasn't done just that. It only means many aspects of good parenting aren't terribly entertaining.
Kelly's not an important character in Grimm. Because he's not, Grimm isn't going to waste time showing Adalind as the outstanding mother. They'll show her doing the everyday things a mother does, feeding, etc. But from what I've seen, those are lead ins to either start the main plot or continue with the main plot. Last night Nick was holding Kelly while Adalind took a shower. She comes out in her towel, there's some small talk, and Juliette calls. End of Kelly and Adalind and on to Juliette. Right now, Adalind isn't all that important to furthering the Grimm storyline. But as she becomes more important, the story will focus more on her and even less on Kelly. He might be seen from time to time but that's not going to make her mother of the year.

I'm not sure maybe this is the thread that was talking about more baby Grimm's and for the sake of humanity? I can't remember (but felt/thought) it was light and not anything 'dirty dirty' more of eluding to it? I can't really remember LOL

Who knows what she did to Diana in the process. I don't like Nick because he constantly compromises his own integrity and puts the public at risk. But Adalind changing her own child so she could profit is just about the most despicable thing I've seen a character do. Can't make a silk purse out of that sow's ear. If Nick only knew. I hope he finds out and soon. Wouldn't that be a awesome episode with the contract appearing magically in front of Diana and she's able to read it? Would the contract have an age limit, like child support do you think? Like, once the child becomes 18 years old it's no longer effective? |
