Or you could interpret the events as the network's new management finally deciding to take action instead of sweeping things under the rug. Not being familiar with much of anything that goes on in the Fox organization I have no idea which it is, but I don't see any reports of outraged ousted Fox personalities suing the company for defamation.
At any rate, getting back to Grimm, I don't see how politics enters into the show's cancellation, because nobody was writing letters of outrage from either side of the political spectrum. The show had not-so-good ratings for its last couple of seasons, and most of us figured that S05 only happened to get to 100 episodes for syndication. It was a surprise when the shoots for 520-522 turned out not to be a series finale.
