Actually, you got that backwards. The Factor was the number one show on cable and they pushed him off the air with a trumped-up charge of sexual harassment. He has been a target from gold diggers for years and had had plenty of accusations over the years played against him.
For my taste, I wasn’t a fan. The Factor was a News Analysis show. I don’t need a TV person telling me what to think about the news, but he was number one in his time slot. He beat his competition against all of them combined. His repeat broadcast, later on at night, beat the live broadcast of his competitors. If an advertiser dropped out, 10 more were eager to fill the spot.
The Murdoc’s, have more money that they can shake a stick at. Ideology is what is driving all or most of the media today in the USA. Most other countries, Political Parties have their own media outlets and they are honest enough to tell its readers where they stand, up front without hesitation.
America was one of the few, if not, the only country that had an independent news media. That independence started to go down the down the shit-shoot way back in the Carter administration and it’s gotten more and more biased since. Fox is also going that way, just a little later.
You know you are OLD, when you see the Slide Ruler you used in college selling in an ANTIQUE SHOP!!
