In Nick case with Juliette he ask her to marry him twice, the last time was just before Rosalee's and Monroe's wedding granted the second time was a hint not down on on keen thing.
Then it's once, js, not twice. A hint does not count in the world of proposals because a hint is just that, nothing more.

He may be fighting the idea of love with Adalind because of what happened to Juliette and knowing it was his fault.
js, if Nick has to ask that many questions about what he feels or doesn't feel about Adalind, that's obvious to me. He doesn't love her.

I'm not so sure he loved Juliette, even though I know there was at least one instance where he told her so. I just never saw where Nick ever really clicked with Juliette. He didn't click with Adalind either.

I agree with this sentiment but this is TV. In TV world, questioning your feelings about someone can equal love. I've seen it happen over and over again. I hate when someone says they think they love someone because love is not a thought but a feeling. Writers like to do this to create angst in a very contrived way.
The only way I can see Nick questioning his feelings is if he feels guilty about them, whatever they may be. He can either feel guilty about having sex with Adalind while not loving her or about being in love with her despite their history. I know sex doesn't equal love but having it with Adalind is a very big deal and I could see how he frightened himself.
Honestly, I don't know if the writers thought too much about it.
