You have a great point there as well as to the motivations of Kelly. Aside from the the villian/good guy scenario, we also have historical archenemies. Kelly's decision was to do what was best from a grimm point of view. To Kelly, a hexenbeist would (probably) always have the opposite view. This could also explain her refusal to consult with Adalind, the mother of the child, even though Sean was informed about the plan. Adalind's pain was so heartbreaking when her child was kidnapped. That's one of my favorite scenes. I would say they had it coming when she went after them even though she wasn't very good at successfully executing her machinations.
I always liked Adalind, even when she was at her worst, because she got a raw deal at the beginning of the series; with her mom and Renard, I mean.
But for some reason I have always seen the wisdom, my word, I know, of doing what was best for Diana. I would have to go back and rewatch from a different point of reference in order to get the other options in the immediacy of the situation. Trying to say it seemed like the best available way to get this very special child to safety (the Royals knew she was special and would have exploited her to their cause of world domination and the overthrow of democratic systems of government and installing authoritarian powers in their place) and the Resistance would have done the same thing in order to use her to their advantage against the Royals - plus the Royals would know where she was. At the time, imo, Adalind could not have been included, if memory serves, because she was still regarded with hostility and suspicion by most the those involved. That Adalind suffered is on the record, along with all of the suffering she herself caused all around her - which created the way in which she was seen. Pebbles in the water making rings of influence reaching further and further out, in my view.
